Tibet Overland Package Tours are

Flight: There is no flight between Nepal
to Tibet from Nov. to Mid of March. It is because of heavy snow-fall.
Flights to Lhasa are operated by Boeing 707 aircraft's belonging to the CSWA,
China South West Airlines. Two flights operate between Lhasa and Kathmandu
every week from April to October and a flight every Saturday November
through March.
The 55 minutes flight to Lhasa
is perhaps one of the most spectacular in the world where one flies over the
Mt. Everest and other majestic Himalayan peaks. Airport departure taxes are
Nepalese Rupees 700 at Kathmandu and 90 FEC (Chinese Currency) at Lhasa
airport.
Visa:
We require at least 10 days notice to process your Tibet visa via Lhasa and
at least another four days for the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu to process
your passports. Also, 5 photographs are needed for the visa processing and
office record.
Clothing and
Accessories:
May to October : Raincoat /
Wing breaker, Jacket, Sweater, Sun hat, Sun Glasses, Shirts, Walking and
thermal underwear.
March to April :
Sleeping Bags / Down Jackets, Thermal underwear, Long Johns, Woolen
trousers, Shirts and other warm cloths.
Money:
The money can be exchanged at the Bank of China
Branches in Zhangmu, Shigatse and Lhasa (airport / city). US$ 1 to FEC
8:07 Foreign Exchange Certificate are re-convertible when leaving Tibet. All
major credit cards are accepted at the major hotel in Lhasa. Elsewhere in
Tibet you may face difficulty.
China Customs:
Declare money and other valuables like Jewelry
and electronic goods when leaving Tibet. Curios must be declared with
proper receipts, which are available only from government shops.
Air Ticket Reconfirmation:
The agent will reconfirm the air ticket upon payment of RMB 30, which is
reconfirmation fee charged by China Southwest Airlines.

Lhasa-Gongar
Airport is 96 k.m. away from Lhasa city .
Time & Banking hours:
8 hours ahead of GMT time. The Banking hours of Tibet is 10 A.M. to 1.30
P.M and again 4 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. Sunday, bank will be closed.
Health & Altitude Problems:
Traveling in Tibet involves high altitude and
can be strenuous. Clients with heart and lung problems should consult with
doctor before the departure. Very rare cases of altitude sickness have been
reported. Simple headache, fever, appetite could be happen. Therefore, we
would like to advice that kindly drink approx. 3 Ltr. of water per day, Move
slowly, breath deeply and take regular rests.
